CD-ROM Orienteering Maps

Map Commission of the Slovak Orienteering Association prepares the CD-ROM: Slovak Orienteering Maps. This CD offers the most of the information on orienteering maps placed on the territory of the Slovak Republic. CD offers information on particular maps (author, year, club, position), on their authors (number of maps), clubs in the Slovak republic and moreover, it offers the maps themselves. These data are offered also in sorted list by various criteria. The maps are put on the CD with the consent of their publishers but because of non-availability of certain colour or non-used copies especially of older maps the CD offers their black and white or used colour copies. The originating of this CD was preceded by several years of collecting and situating of orienteering maps on the territory of the Slovak Republic, the result of which was database of the orienteering maps. This effort was fruitful only thanks to willingness of orienteers to provide their maps from their private archives. CD is prepared in Slovak, English, French, German, Hungarian and Czech languages. It will be possible to order the CD at the secretariat of the Slovak Orienteering Association.
