Slovakia has moved to the 2nd Division of the countries ranking in the Orienteering (Men's category) !!!
Based on the results of the last two World Championships in the Orienteering (WOC), 2017 in Estonia and the recently ended WOC 2018 in Latvia, Slovakia moved to the 2nd division of the countries classifications in the men's category. This means that in 2019 at the World Championships in Norway (12th-17th August 2019, Sarpsborg) they will be able to start straight in the final in the men's long distance two Slovak competitors. In the women's category, Slovakia is still in the 3rd Division, which means direct participation in the long distance competition at WOC 2019 of one Slovak women competitor. In this rankings both women and men category ("divisions of countries"), individual results on the middle and long distance and the result of the forest relay for the last two years at the World Championships in the orienteering are calculated, the following rules were applied first time at the WOC in 2015 in Scotland. The principle of calculations as well as the ranking of individual countries in divisional classification is on the website of the International Orienteering Federation (IOF) on this LINK. The competitions in the sprint discipline are not included in this classifications of the divisions of the countries. They can start at most three competitors from each country (sprint competitions). Slovakia has moved from the third division of the men's category together with Bulgaria to Division 2 in y. 2019, from which Italy and Germany "have been relegated" for 2019 (these countries will have 1 competitor in the middle and long distances at WOC 2019).
